Honda CR-V SUV for Europe

After Honda CR-V prototype’s debut at the Paris Auto Show in October, the company recently released the first photos of the CR-V for Europe.

Although the CR-V for Europe has got the fitment of roof rails, body-coloured door handles and LED rear light clusters slightly altered, it has no noticeable exterior design differences compared with the prototype and it is quite similar to the US-spec 2015 Honda CR-V.

Inside the car, the Honda CR-V for Europe gets a reshaped chrome-effect inlay running the width of the dashboard, as well as an armrest between the front seats.

Also, the new Honda Connect, an app-driven infotainment system that is fitted as standard across the range, features a seven-inch touch screen, which allows the front-seat occupants the access to vehicle information, rear-view parking camera and music and Bluetooth connectivity.

The most amazing part of the CR-V for Europe is the addition of a new 1.6-liter i-DTEC diesel engine from Honda’s Earth Dreams Technology series, which produces 160PS and 350Nm of torque, while the replaced one is a 150 PS/350 Nm 2.2 liter i-DTEC motor.

Moreover, the new engine is much cleaner than the outgoing one. It is offered with two transmissions: a six-speed manual or a new nine-speed automatic transmission. The manual one will emit less than 130g/km of CO2. As for the new automatic one, it emits under 135g/km of CO2, which is twenty percent less compared with the previous five-speed automatic transmission.
